About
Josephine Clark is an interdisciplinary artist based in Denver, Colorado. She works in a plethora of mediums to create whimsical and alluring painted, sculptural, and installation works. Clark references her own healing journey, inner child work, mixed cultural background, and spirituality to promote matriarchal values. She is passionate about creating opportunities for connection in her community and providing accessibility, education, and healing through the arts.
Clark earned a BFA in Art Practices with an emphasis in Transmedia Sculpture, Painting, and Drawing, a BA in Art History, a minor in Business Administration, and an Associates of Science from the University of Colorado Denver. She has curated exhibitions on friendship and rebirth at CU Denver Experience Gallery and Pirate Contemporary Art. Additionally, her work has been exhibited at Leon Art Gallery, Emmanuel Art Gallery, and the Children’s Museum of Denver, among others. Clark values collaboration and has participated in internships at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Denver and the Museum of Outdoor Arts and has worked on large-scale installations with various artists.
Materiality is embedded within Clark’s artistic practice as she believes that materials hold emotional significance and contribute to the meaning of each work. She also believes that art has the power to accessibly educate the public and create positive social change. After graduating from CU Denver in May 2025, Clark plans to continue creating, acquiring grants and residencies while continuing her research on matriarchy.
